I got the Hackerlily Hipsurfer for my third baby, and honestly, I just wish I’d found it sooner! It made carrying my (very heavy!) little one so much easier and took a huge load off my shoulders, arms, and hips. It’s comfortable, practical, and such a relief for anyone doing lots of carrying. Total game-changer!
There’s one thing better than supporting Aussie women-owned businesses: when the products you buy are perfection!
Honestly I’ve had my carrier for two days and I’m already in love. My first child was in a brace for hip dysplasia for nearly a year, and carrying her was one of the hardest parts. I had a hip carrier but it was a cheap nothing brand and it wasn’t good at all.
My second has just gone into a rhino brace at 3 months and I immediately ordered this when I saw it recommended on a hip dysplasia page. Oh my gosh what a game changer!!! I can hold him with just one hand now, without plastic digging into me or squeezing him too tightly. And the bonus of using it as a feeding support, and being able to fit things in the pocket…it’s amazing.
If you have a hippy baby or bad back, I highly recommend.
PS customer support was great too - the founder supports the hip dysplasia community and replied to me directly when I messaged on instagram. Fabulous.

We were kindly gifted one of these for my son who has cerebral palsy. Because he’s non-ambulatory I had to carry him a lot when he wasn’t in his pram/wheelchair. So this was a super handy little product for popping quickly into the shops or to a cafe! It is a bit tricky at first to get it in the right position/ tight enough, but when you get the hang of it it’s easy! I will be passing it along to another mumma now my son has outgrown it, but definitely recommend also for those toddlers who aren’t sure if they want to walk about or be held. I wish I had it for my first too!
I absolutely love our hip surfer! I have 5 children and I wish I had one for all of them! My youngest girl is 7 months and loves being carried everywhere so this has helped me so much! I am more comfortable and she is too!
I love its multi function use! She has fallen asleep on it (and looks so peaceful), fed laying on it and in general just loves being close but also having the ability to look around.
Would recommend to every Mum!
Struggling with back pain already with my four month old, and the hip surfer has been a game changer. She sits so comfortably on it and I can stand straighter, taking the pressure off my lower back, neck and shoulders. Highly recommend!!
This product is an absolute game changer!! I had purchased it pregnant with my 3rd baby after suffering with back pain with my other babies rocking to sleep and all. I had originally purchased it thinking it would be helpful with the new bub when he was bigger. But it’s amazing even as a newborn as I can hold him with minimal weight in my arms, allowing me to do all housework around other kids with my baby. Not to mention great to breastfeed! I’ve fed my baby using this product to eat dinner, put my other kids to bed reading a bedtime story and all. All kids are happy and I’m happy! So amazing! Wish I had it with my first!
Since having my little one, my back has been suffering & my physio has been getting richer ;) I tried soft & structured carriers but none worked for us, they’re all too fiddly. I use the hipsurfer everyday- round the house, settling for naps & quick trips to the shops. I will be taking this on our international flight soon as well. I can see me using this for years to come. I would love an all black verison (for me & my partner) & maybe rubber zipper pulls so they dont clang when you’re settling bub. But Im so glad I decided to get a hipsurfer, its literally saved my back.
I immediately felt relief in my hands and back when carrying my 6 month old who needs to wear a Rhino brace for most of the day. Having only one velcro attachment makes it super easy to put on and take off on the go. Bub has also fallen asleep on me when on the hipsurfer. 5 out of 5 stars would highly recommend to new mums!
This hipsurfer has saved my back and arms. I’m now excited to take my little man (11 month old) on walks without straining myself. I always get comments from people on what a fantastic idea it is.
As my bub continues to grow and get heavier, she still loves to be held just as much. The HipSurfer takes the strain off my back and I get to enjoy the cuddles for as long as I like!
The HipSurfer has been an absolute game-changer for us! With a 1 and 2-year-old in tow, we take ours everywhere—from airports to hikes, theme parks to city streets where prams just aren’t practical. It’s so easy to use, quick to swap between us, and makes travelling with two little ones so much simpler.
I love that I can rock my baby to sleep in a crowded place or breastfeed comfortably without a second thought. And with the roomy storage, we’ve always got nappies, wipes, and all the essentials on hand—no more digging through a bottomless nappy bag! It’s hands down the most useful thing we own as parents!!

The hip surfer is amazing for both my 2.5 year old and my 5 month old. I’ve used it to feed my baby while we’re out and to carry both my baby and my toddler around the zoo, around the shops. My baby fell asleep on my shoulder while out!
This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a carrier but I wanted something that allowed me to carry bubba on the hip. My shoulders have been feeling the strain of carrying her. My baby girl loves it. She can cuddle into me and look out of the world. I’m still learning which positioning I like the best but that will come with time. I’m a plus size girly so the extender worked well just make sure if you are a plus size girl to order the extender as well. I didn’t realise I needed it when I first purchased it. Overall I love it so far with baby only being 6 month so interested to see how useful it becomes when she is a toddler.
I used a traditional baby carrier when my baby was little, but she never liked being strapped to me like that. She loves being able to look around to see the world and it relieves the extra pressure and weight on my back.
