At Hackerlily, we love connecting with mums who make life easier and a little more stylish. This week, we’re chatting with Amie, the Brisbane-based mum, content creator, and founder of Mum Mode, a style-led platform helping mums rediscover their style without sacrificing comfort, practicality, or personality. Living in Brisbane with her husband, three-year-old daughter (their cavoodle), Amie has always been curious and creative, with studies in Fashion Merchandising, Personal Styling, Event Management, Fitness, and Marketing under her belt. These days she splits her time between her role as a Content Marketing Manager and growing Mum Mode into a supportive, fashion-led community.

The idea for Mum Mode came from Amie’s own style struggles after becoming a mum. Pregnant during COVID, she found herself unsure of what to wear in late pregnancy and postpartum, and quickly realised she wasn’t the only one. A conversation in her mums group sparked the first Mum Mode style edit, and what began as a simple wardrobe moodboard has grown into a platform filled with real-life outfit formulas, budget-friendly finds, and style advice from both professionals and everyday mums. Listening to her community is at the heart of everything she does. From polls about daycare drop-off outfits to curated edits that help fill wardrobe gaps, Amie’s content is always shaped by what mums actually need.

When it comes to personal style, Amie describes hers right now as effortless, feminine, and comfortable. She’s quick to remind other mums that your body after baby deserves to be celebrated exactly as it is, sharing one of the best tips she’s received: buy jeans for the body you have now. For mums feeling stuck in a style rut, her advice is to start small and follow creators whose style resonates with you, save outfits you love, shop key sales, do a mini wardrobe clean-out, and if you can, try things on in-store to reconnect with your style in real life. And if you’re really stuck? Book a personal stylist — it’s self-care, not indulgence.

We couldn’t resist asking Amie to create some HipSurfer style ideas, and she delivered. Her sample fits show just how easily the HipSurfer can work with your wardrobe blending practicality with a touch of polish, and proving that comfort and style can go hand in hand.

For Amie, the most rewarding part of Mum Mode is the community: connecting with other mums, spotlighting small brands, and creating a space that celebrates individuality while making mum life a little easier. Her message to mums everywhere? Motherhood can feel all-consuming, but you can still feel like yourself and style can be a small but powerful way back to that.
